Two Point Oh!

Phew.. its been quite a journey the last few months. We went from 1 kid to 2 kids, 2 boys to 3 boys, 3 people to 4 people, and finally from sane to insane. Me and my wife always knew that its going to be tricky managing two little humans.. but recently when I had to wipe the bums of both my kids in a space of 5 minutes I realized... that shit just got real! Really grateful for the year we've had till now.. but again reiterating, shit just got real... copy that!

The attention has shifted from the mom well and truly to the babies now. A whole new dynamic, a lot many situations needing subject matter expertise, and just one cherubic smile to mitigate all this! Most days we manage to get the resourcing right (between me and my wife) to manage the situation at hand. In the process we have become more patient, less judging and have also developed some sort of hand eye coordination to switch between taking care of senior and junior (If you are picturing a scenario of we tossing the baby in the air to each other... well we haven't tried that yet.. and you particularly stay away from our home).

The thing with two kids versus one is that there are times when you are man-to-man marking and have no idea what's happening in the other war zone (err.. room). Between feeding, putting to sleep, entertaining, cleaning and suspending logic.. you realize this is a FULL TIME job! with toothless smiles, weird cooing noises and warm hugs (forced from our end) as incentives! We are bracing for new challenges everyday.. Hit me baby one more time (sorry.. cheap and unnecessary plug-in)

I cannot put in words the accomplishment of getting that quiet time on the couch after a long day, just after putting both the kids to bed! It is like that last scene of 'The pursuit of happiness" when Will Smith finally gets a job and is thrilled to bits but has to reign in and act normal on the street... same thing except that there are two Will Smiths here emerging from different rooms congregating at the couch :D (Living the moment before one of the kids decides to wake up)

While me and wife get better at this game and eventually start getting a return on our investment :D  there are little moments that make this totally worthwhile. That innocence in the eyes of the little one, the way the elder one tries to engage the little one, the complete family picture, that one time I named my kids Drogon, Rhaegal and called my wife 'Mother of my Dragons'... Err not that one may be.. Khaleesi was not impressed! #ValarNotWorthItIs

The important thing is to stay together in it and power through for the first 120 days. After that... I actually didn't think through this and the sentence after it! Anyways, until the next set of eventful chronicles from my Ram-Lakhan.. Ciao!

It was that momentous year for us.. and the question mark turned out to be our second son! :)
